Meet the Team at Bonner Eye Clinic: Our Magnificent Managers
The team at Bonner Eye Clinic is a tight-knit group of professionals who truly care about the people in our community. We are so fortunate to work with such dedicated, compassionate people every day. Over the next few months, we will be featuring different team members in our blogs so you can see familiar faces when you come into our clinic for eye exams or advanced eye care. This month we are featuring the amazing managers at Bonner Eye Clinic.
Diane, COE, COMT
Clinic Manager
I have worked at Bonner Eye Clinic for close to 34 years! I have held many different positions at the clinic over the years including Technician, Contact Lens Technician, LASIK Coordinator and now Clinic Manager. I love ophthalmology and all it has to offer. I am continuously learning new things and to this day find my position very challenging, yet satisfying. One of the best parts of working at BEC is that we are one big family. We have an outstanding team that not only cares for our patients but also our co-workers.
In my free time I love to spend time at our cabin on Lake Vermilion. My favorite outdoor activity up there is making firewood. I also love to hike, especially in the mountains. My husband and I love to cook on the weekends, for ourselves or guests, but it is best when we have any or all of our four children, their significant others and our five (soon to be six) grandchildren join us. Ciao!
Marilynne
Optical Manager
I have been an employee of Bonner Eye Clinic since 2011. In 2020, I became the Optical Manager, when my friend and co-worker Pam Moos retired.
I attended Itasca Community College and received my Vo-Tech certificate in the Optometric Assistant program and am also American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certified. I take pride in my profession and in maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is when a patient leaves the office seeing better than they ever have and in good-looking, quality frames and lenses.
Rachel
Front Office Manager
I oversee the schedules for both our patients and doctors at our Grand Rapids and Hibbing locations. I also monitor the front office staff while answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. I started working at Bonner Eye Clinic in 2018 and have come to really love ophthalmology as it challenges me on a daily basis.
My husband and I have been married for 23 wonderful years. For our anniversary he even surprised me at work with 23 red roses! In my free time I love spending time with my family, watching movies, boating, skiing and snowmobiling.
Deb
Billing Office and Scribe Manager
I have been a member of the Bonner Eye Clinic family since 1995. I am currently the Billing Office and Scribe Manager and am one year away from retirement. Although I’ll miss my job and co-workers, I am looking forward to more time with my family.
I’ve been married for 44 years, have two children and five grandchildren. In my spare time, I love spending time with my animals: one horse, two dogs, two cats and seven chickens. They like to keep me busy. I also enjoy reading mystery novels and sightseeing.
Shelley, COT, OSA
Technician Manager & Refractive Surgery Coordinator
I have deep roots in Grand Rapids and have been employed by Bonner Eye Clinic since 1998. I oversee the technicians on a daily basis to make sure our patients have an excellent experience with a thorough exam. As Refractive Surgery Coordinator, I watch over all of our iLASIK patients, so if you’re interested in iLASIK or other refractive procedures, give me a call.
I have been happily married for 28 years and have two beautiful Labradors named Sammy and Bella. We enjoy being outside as much as possible gardening, spending time in the greenhouse and feeding and photographing the birds. I also love to fish, whether on the ice or water, and love to swim in any of our beautiful northern Minnesota lakes.
Tina
Surgical Coordinator
I joined the Bonner Eye Clinic in 2000 starting out in the front office, moving on to supervising the front office and currently manage the surgical schedules for procedures performed at Lakewood Surgery Center and Fairview Hospital in Hibbing. The types of surgery include cataract, glaucoma and laser procedures.
As Surgical Coordinator, I counsel patients on their procedure from pre-op to post-op and what to expect through the entire process. I am dedicated, hardworking and often go the extra mile to help a patient with questions or concerns, including insurance coverage. I take great pride in all of our patients having an excellent experience and improved vision.
In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, cooking, camping and spending time with my family and friends.
